Description
A brown leather writing satchel with leather handle. Inscribed on front 'Capt C Clayton Hutton, Royal View, Datchet'. Satchel opens up into two compartments which contain pockets and pouches.
It is thought that this satchel belonged to Christopher Clayton Hutton who has been described as a soldier, airman, journalist and inventor. He was recruited into M19, British Military Intelligence, during the Second World War. How this satchel came to be part of the Tauranga Heritage Collection is currently unknown.
