A Queen Alexandra Imperial Military Nursing Service Uniform. Includes a dress, short and long cape and a hat.
The Queen Alexandra Imperial Military Nursing Service was established in 1902 and required its nurses to be single, over 25 and of a high social status. During World War One these conditions were relaxed and over 10,000 nurses joined worldwide. This uniform was worn by Marion White a New Zealander who joined the service in England at the beginning of the war.
