Description
A framed sampler made of green, fawn and brown silk thread on wool tabby background. Made by Sarah Fitch in 1833 aged 13 years and contains the following lines: "Virtue's the chiefest beauty of the mind. The noblest ornament of human kind. Virtue's our safeguard and our guiding star, that stirs up reason when our senses err ".
