A Queen Alexandra Imperial Military Nursing Service Reserve Nursing Medal.
The Queen Alexandra Imperial Military Nursing Service was established in 1902 and required its nurses to be single, over 25 and of a high social status. During World War One these conditions were relaxed and over 10,000 nurses joined worldwide. This medal belonged to Marion White a New Zealander who joined the service in England at the beginning of the war.
