Object detail

Description
A two-piece bikini in purple, black, orange and yellow. Made of lycra and polyamide. Size 14. Seagull design on both sides of bikini bottom plus one cup of the top. The bottoms have elastic gathering around legs and waist. Top with bound edge in white with attached ties around neck (string style) and around back from cups. The top has horizontal seam across each cup.

Expozay was established in Tauranga by Tony and Judy Alvos in 1976. The business idea was born when Judy, who was importing swimwear, began experimenting and producing her own garments to sell. Early Expozay bikinis were screen-printed with black outlines and then airbrushed with colour detail.
