Object detail

Description
A calf-length dress with cuffed, elbow-length sleeves and soft, open necked pointed collar. The dress has a cross-over bodice front with gathers running from the shoulder seam to the waist. There are fasteners with two white, plastic, embossed buttons. However the main closure method is a series of domes and hooks and eyes concealed in left side seam. The dress has a self-covered belt. The skirt front has a six-gored panel. There is a all over pattern of stylised flowers of blue/green/brown on a "patchwork" background in same colours.''

This dress is thought to be new old stock which came from Hartley's Drapery, a well known store which operated on The Strand, Tauranga.
