Object detail

Description
A short-sleeved rayon day dress with cuffs and a soft open collar and three round flat black plastic buttons. At the centre front of the skirt a pleat is stitched down and at pleat the hemline there is a hand-stitched X to hold pleat flat before purchase. The fabric has a black background with red, yellow, green, purple abstract patterns. There is a metal zip concealed in the left side seam and a self-covered belt. The shoulder pleats run to the waist gathers. 'Sarlita' label.

This dress is thought to be new old stock which came from Hartley's Drapery, a well known store which operated on The Strand, Tauranga.
