Object detail

Description
An i-ula tavatava (throwing club) made of hard wood. The club is carved at the top, with 12 rounded knobs projecting outward, with a single knob on the top. Displays a woven plait of sinnet (coconut husk) bound to the handle, plus a plaited synthetic cord, possibly as a hanging device. The word AMATE etched into the club's upper handle.
