Description
An epa from the left side of a wall. The piece is made of totara painted with white and black kowhaiwhai patters on the top half. The base area is painted red. Notches two on the right, one on the left for a kaho batten. Trim is on the right side.

An original piece from Te Hei meeting house at Manoeka Pa, near Te Puke. The tribe is Waitaha. Carvers of the house were Taiko and Tu Te Rangiwhakaea. Erected by Tarahina in 1899. Returned to Tauranga by Te Papa in 1991.
