Inside lid cardboard is blue and handwriting "11 packets of sewing needles brought from (HStilleto) London in 1853 by the Saxons lent by Mrs Athol Whitwell". Inside base cardboard is blue. Outer sides sellotaped in two corners. Brown paper glued on bottom of base. Handwriting "lent by Mrs Athol Whitwell, 624". "623" has been written and then crossed out.

/7 - Folded brown paper packet with 27 needles. H.47xW22mm. White, gold and brown label reads "W.Vale & Sons locomotive grooveless eyed sharps No.5". "624" written in blue pen on label.
/8 - Folded brown paper packet with 17 needles. H35mmxW18mm. Front white and gold label reads, "Wells & Cos Grooveless Patent Drilled Ey'd Sharps No 8". Handwritten inside "624".
/9 - Folded brown paper packet with 18 needles. H36mmx17mm. Rips to corners, an area where the top layer of the paper has been removed "624" written on the outside.
