Description
A rectangular grey and silver cast metal Movikon 8mm motion picture camera with rounded corners and a brown leather case with a long adjustable shoulder/neck strap. On top in the centre is a flat-topped triangular protrusion with a small rectangle-shaped window which is the view finder. Front and centre is a blue round lens, to the left is a circular winding key and on the other side is a frame rate adjuster and printing which reads "ZEISS / IKON / MOVIKON 8". A dial, display dial and two switches are located on the top of the camera. This camera has a "Zeiss Movitar" lens and uses standard 8 film, and can be used in either still mode "E" or movie mode "L".
The front and lid of the case attach to the reverse by way of a domed fastener and the camera is held in place by a circular metal attachment on the bottom. On the interior of the case at the top are two pockets. The Zeiss Ikon logo of an arched rectangle and "MOVIKON 8" are embossed on the front of the case, and "Zeiss Ikon A.G. / Stuttgart-Germany / 1280 / 28" is on top near the back.
