Description
A sleeveless evening gown in fuchsia pink chiffon gathered from bust to shoulders, stitched to create soft horizontal pleats over the boned bodice. Vertical pleats over the bust and back form shoulder "straps" gathered into a loop on each shoulder. The waistband is delineated by silver bugle beads, iridescent sequins and silver seed beads in an asymetrical leaf/vine design. This decoration runs completely around the waist, though narrows at the rear, from which the skirt lined with three layers falls to the floor. Proper left side seam opening 335mm with a zip and two hook and eyes. Skirt layers comprise chiffon, tulle, taffeta, toile.

This evening gown was made for Eleanor Mary Ellis. In the early 1960s Eleanor emigrated to NZ with her parents.
