A bible with blind stamped black leather cover. A cross has been 'stuck' on centre front cover. Ribbed spine with gold inlay at top 'Holy Bib--'. Inside front cover handwriting reads 'Clifton House, Hove Brighton, R. E. Wallace, R. E. Wallace. March 31st 1959. Bob Wallace. Wallace, R. J. Curtis 1st Wa-' 'Clifton House, Hove Brighton. This bible was used at Court Martials held in the Orderly Room of the 1st Waikato Regt from 1863 to 1867 - William Hunter Capt and Adjutant 1 W.R'. Stamped in blue ink at top 'HQ Waikato 2nd May 1961, Hamilton'. Light black pencil writing first page ' _______ the ________discipline ______this ____________'. Printing on opposite page reads 'the Holy Bible containing the old and new testaments, translated out of orginal tongues; and with the former translations diligently compared and revised. By his majesty's special command. Appointed to be read in Churches, London: Printed by George E Eyre and William Spottiswoode. Printers to the Queen's most excellent Majesty.
