Description
A Common Prayer Book that has a dark brown leather cover with blind stamped border. The spine is ribbed and embossed with 'Common Prayer' in gold at top. Handwritten in black ink and pencil 'Mrs Grindley, Mrs ___ Grindley, Albany St Dunedin' inside front cover. Beneath is stamp 'Reith & Wilkie. Booksellers and Stationers, Dunedin'. Over the page handwritten in black ink 'Mrs William Grindley, Fa__hoinairiri, April 20th 1877". Title page reads, 'The book of common prayer and administration of the sacraments and other rites and ceremonies of the Church, according to the use of the United Church of England and Ireland". Includes a contents page.
