Object detail

Description
A black leather cover that has a blind stamped and gold inlay border. The spine is ribbed and has gold inlay horizontal stripes running down its length. 'Paragraph Bible, References Notes &c.', is in gold at top of spine. Bible is held together with a single centred clasp. Inside front cover is lemon yellow in colour and has a white rectangular sticker with '220' on it. In black handwriting on following page, 'Rebecca Richardson, 20th August 1857'. Title page reads 'The pocket paragraph bible. The Holy Bible containing the old and new testaments'. Opposite is a fold out 'Map of the countries mentioned in the Bible'. Inside back cover bottom proper right is stamp of 'B.West Binder, Clertenwell, London'. Pages are edged with gold gilt.
