Description
"Spy Ring" board game consisting of rectangular cardboard box with lid and internal tray and game components including game board, square playing pieces, figure shaped playing pieces and playing cards. $3.75 and 37/6 handwritten in pencil on bottom of the box.
/1 Lid - Printed cardboard lid predominately light and dark blue in colour with a photograph of a man dressed in black hat and coat holding a pair of binoculars. Lid reads 'The international spy game, Waddington's Spy Ring, Poisson! Vis! Pbl6a! Fisk!'.
/2 Box Base - Cardboard covered in white paper. Printing on base gives description of game. Light blue insert tray interior base has three black compartments to hold game pieces. Drawn on insert are two houses and several 'spy' figures.
/3 Game Board - Square cardboard covered with sixteen embassies and squares for players to move between them. Countries are Sweden, Spain, Holland, China, Portugal, Britain, USA, Greece, Turkey, Russia, France, Japan, Italy, Germany, Finland, Yugoslavia.
/4 Token - Sixteen plastic square white tokens with green, yellow, red and blue dots in center, four of each. Described as 'Secret tokens'.
/5 Card - Forty rectangular cardbaord cards with a variety of words in a number of languages.
/6 Playing pieces - Figure shaped playing pieces. Two red, two blue, two green and two yellow. Four of these may be 'spy figures' and four 'contact men' figures.
