A studio portrait of a soldier from the 3rd Auckland Mounted Rifles. The image is oval and mounted on brown card. Stamped at bottom of card "Medallist, Hermann Schmidt, Vice Regal Studios Queen St Auckland".
Research has identified the man as Trooper Cyril James Mitchell 13/2595 NZ Field Artillery. Enlisted from Sunnyvale Road, Greenlane, Auckland. Son of Frederick John Mitchell. Born 15 Aug 1895.
