Description
Sepia cartes-de-visite portrait showing a young woman with hair centre parted and pinned up in plaited coronet style. Dark fabric matching jacket and skirt with ruched trim. Holding an open book. Printed on card "A. D. Lewis Newcastle-on-Tyne". On reverse "Photographer and Artist. A D Lewis 111 & 113 Scotswood Road, Newcastle-on- Tyne. Old NO. 5 Hynde St, Studio unchanged. Copies can always be had. Enlargements up to life size finished in oils or water colours. Also a special portrait by A D Lewis' new permanent and patented process. The enlargements up to life size being quite equal to the small portrait".
