Description
An unmounted postcard print showing a street scene with crowd of people in Willow Street near the corner of Wharf Street. Includes soldiers and sailors and civilians with many children with flags. Appears to be outside the Town Hall. One story building on south-east corner of Wharf and Willow has sign E. T. Baker, Land Agent. Opposite on north-east corner is Produce Merchants. Star Hotel and office of Sharpe Tudhope [steep roofed building] visible in Spring Street. Houses in background are in Devonport Road. It is believed that this photograph is of Peace Day Celebrations which took place in Tauranga on 19 July 1919.
