Description
A mounted print showing a two storey timber hotel with balcony. One storey shop adjacent 'Brown & Kerr'. Large crowd of people on balcony, no one in street, a bicycle leaning against a verandah pole. This image is of Stallards Board and Residence in Collingwood taken before 1904 when the building burnt down. Stallard's Bakery on ground floor was source of the fire. Brown & Kerr jewellers was a branch of a Nelson firm. Stallard is a well known name in the district. F.Tyree stamped on front of photo at base. There is a Tyree Collection at the Nelson Provincial Museum.
