Description
A vernacular print showing the remains of fire at the Public Works Department depot at Mount Maunganui. Shows sheds, railway wagons and rubble. Harbour in background. At this time the East Coast Main Trunk Railway was being built and this was the depot. Handwritten on reverse "1918-1919 fire at our depot Mt Maunganui". Research identifies that there was a fire at the Public Works Department, Mount Maunganui, on 20 June 1919.
