Description
Unmounted print showing a group of people on a platform erected for laying of foundation stone ceremony for Tauranga Hospital. Stone reads "This stone was laid by Sir Maui Pomare K.B.E., C.M.G. Minister of Health February 22nd 1924. Thomas Lochhead Chairman of the Tauranga Hospital Board. H.H. Clemson Architect, F. Polley and Sons Contractors". Platform appears to be built of timber with steps at front decorated with ferns and greenery, white back drop with flags. Handwritten on reverse "Mr Lockhead standing with beard, Mrs & Mrs Clemson (architect), C. E. Macmillan (mayor), Mr Lumley (secretary), Miss Barnes matron".
