Description
An unmounted postcard format print showing Sulphur Point before land was reclaimed ending on a curved sand spit known as The Spit. Two storey buildings with chimney are the Sulphur Works that processed the sulphur from White Island. The works had its own wharf as sulphur arrived by sea. Behind picket fence are two timber cottages. Central front door with window on each side, corrugated iron roof and brick chimney. An unsealed road leads to works. On reverse in ink "Sulphur Point and Sulphur Works Tauranga about 1900".
