Description
An unmounted postcard format print showing a view of Monmouth Redoubt taken from a south east angle. Judging from height it may have been taken from a ship's mast perhaps in Brain's slipyard. On left there is a partial view of Mann's building No. 1 The Strand. Dwellings in Cliff Road and Monmouth Street are also visible. Flagstaff, armstrong gun and magazine store are within the Redoubt. Handwritten on reverse in pencil 'Redoubt 1900'. A new flagstaff was erected and used for the first time in March 1899.
