Description
A mounted large format print of a studio portrait of three women and child. Older woman has high brimless hat with feathers and flowers and wearing cape seated in cane chair holding a small girl (2 - 3 years?). Child has dress with tucked skirt.Second seated woman is wearing a long coat and gloves and a turned -up brim holding flowers on her hat. The woman standing has a light coloured tucked dress with high collar and brimless hat with flowers. Printed on mount "F. B. Hughes New Coronation Studio 2 Victoria Square Christchurch NZ". Hardwicke Knight lists F B Hughes working in Rangiora 1894 -1900. On reverse in ink "To Alfred Smith esq from Flora Smith (nee Davies) 2 Burrows St Tauranga. Auroa Taranaki".
