Description
An unmounted postcard format print showing a large crowd standing in Cameron Road outside the Tauranga Domain. Many cars parked on side of the road which at that point was narrow and unsealed. Bellevue Hotel visible further down the road. The official opening on of the First World War Memorial Gates was on 11 December 1921. Sir William Herries MP opened the gates; dedication by Rev E.A. Mc Curcheon; address by Col. G.A. Ward chairman of Tauranga Domain Board. On reverse "Opening of Domain Gates at Tauranga''.
