Description
An unmounted format print showing a large crowd of people, including children and babies, gathered by train in Tauranga. The event is the official railway opening, The Strand, Tauranga, 20 June 1924. Flags and bunting decorate the street. On reverse "the opening of the railway 1st train 1924". Identified by Alf Rendell, son of the photographer Robert Rendell, as having been taken by his father.
