Description
An unmounted postcard format print showing the official opening of Tauranga Domain WW1 Memorial Gates, 11 December 1921. Sir William Herries MP opened the gates; dedication by Rev E.A. Mc Curcheon; address by Col. G.A. Ward chairman of Tauranga Domain Board. Three nurses in white standing by gates. Large crowd of the public in foreground. On reverse "Tauranga Domain gates [opened 1921]". Identified by Alf Rendell, son of the photographer Robert Rendell, as having been taken by his father.
