Description
An unmounted postcard format print showing a view looking south along Devonport Road. Building on left [was Norris and Bell] has Elizabeth Beauty Salon upstairs, further on Luncheon & Tea Rooms, and two Chemists. From right going up hill is the Star Hotel with the name Jury on frontage. A few doors up is Ern Gray tailor, a furniture shop, and a garage selling Plume petrol. Pre WW2 cars parked on both sides of street and in foreground a circular traffic island [or silent policeman]. This photograph was identified by Alf Rendell as having been taken by his father.
