Description
A large format mounted print showing five teams of horses drawing carts or wagons, some loaded with sacks and two with large drums or tanks. Twenty-five horses in all with drivers on road with farm in background and hills. Three Donovan brothers settled in the Te Puke district in the 1890s. Paddy was a carter, coach proprietor, and mail contractor. Handwritten on reverse "Donovan's Team carting sulphur at Rotorua. First sulphur to be export over Mount Maunganui wharf".
