A sepia image of the opening of the East Coast Main Trunk Railway in Tauranga on 20 June 1924. A large group of people gathered on The Strand beside a train and a stage with bunting. Coats and umbrellas indicate a wet day. Harbour in background. Brown mount with printed border in good condition. Handwritten on the back in pencil 'H Graham, June 21st 1924'.
