Description
A panoramic view of Willow and Harington Streets, Tauranga, taken from the site of the old Government Building in Willow Street. On left the large tree is probably the poplar, locally called the Aspen tree that was removed in 2011. Group of buildings in centre of image are those on north side of Harington Street with the Mechanics' Institute nearest to the corner. Trees obscure most of lower Harington Street but a fire escape can be seen on the wall of the Tauranga Hotel. Two funnels indicate a ship is moored at the Town Wharf at the foot of Wharf Street. Large building fronts on to Hamilton Street with rear half made of brick.
