Description
A large format unmounted black and white print of the verandah of Maungawhare showing intricate pierced timber decoration on verandah poles. Chicago bay window. Registered with Heritage New Zealand as a Category 2 home. The building was designed by Isaac Vialou architect, later of Hamilton, built for Henry Stainforth Brabant on his farm in 1878. When his family outgrew this house he built Woodhill. Handwritten on reverse 'Photograph taken and donated by R D Hyde.'
