Description
A mounted black and white print showing a Thornycroft Fire Engine outside Tauranga Fire Station in Durham Street. An open cab style of vehicle with storage unit under running board. Registration number 25813. Maker's name Thornycroft embossed on the radiator. Horn affixed near stearing column has a rubber bulb to press. Hose reel, pump and ladders on back. Fire Station and tower were built by Joseph Brain in 1912. Appears to be a masonry building with double timber front door. Outside stair leads to upper storey. Stamped on reverse 'R. J. Rendell, Photographer, Tauranga'. In pencil 'F Bickers'.
