Description
A WW2 RAF forage cap made of blue grey wool fabric. The cap has two brass RAF buttons positioned vertically on the front. The lining is a faded light brown and trimmed with a velvet band. A makers label inside reads "Gieves Ltd. 21 Old Bond St. London W.1." Handwritten on the label is the name 'Hunter'.

Mr Arthur Vicary Hunter, known as Vic, was a well respected member of the community who belonged to the Freemasons, the Lions Club, The Tauranga Club, Tauranga Officer's Club and Tauranga Swimming Club. On the outbreak of WWII he enlisted in the RAF. After the war Vic worked as a motor industry insurance assessor. Covered the area from Waihi to Ōpōtiki.
