Description
A postcard showing a view of F.H. Hammond Baker and Grocer with a horse and cart outside. Handwriting on reverse reads "Hammond Shop on Wharf Street and Bakehouse about 1905." and "Willow Street where present City Council building is now. Museum got the oven bricks when demolished 1971." Advertisements in The Bay of Plenty Times confirms that F.H. Hammond Baker and Grocer was located in Willow Street at this time.
