Description
Postcard showing a large group of people standing round a building site, heavily decorated with flags. Handwriting on back states "Laying of Foundation Stone of old Fire Station, Durham Street". A detailed article in the Bay of Plenty Times, 23 June 1911, reported that 800 adults and children assembled in Durham Street to witness the ceremony.
