A carte de visite portrait of a woman with cap on head and hair in short ringlets both sides. Her dress is plain except for tucks and some trim on shoulder seam. Printed on reverse 'Bolko Schmiechen, 135 High Street West, Sunderland. 22 Tower Street West, Hartlepool.'
