Description
Ka tangi te titi, Kat tangi te kᾱkᾱ,
Ka tangi hoki ᾱhua Tihei Mauiora
The titi is calling, the kᾱkᾱ is calling
and I wish to call 'behold for there is life'

Oval shaped kᾱkᾱ pöria with a hole in middle and a small threading hole on one end. Kᾱkᾱ pöria are small leg rings fashioned from pounamu to confine the movements of Käkä parrots, during the fouling season. Wild käkä, being curious and sociable, were attracted in great numbers by the tame birds' cries.
