Description
A white bath towel with green lettering in centre 'Wharepai Hotel'.
This property was known as Wharepai Hotel and was at one time owned by the Asher family. Asher Asher was the first of the family to settle in Tauranga. His son David Asher was proprietor of the Tauranga Hotel from 1891 to 1904 and lived in one half of Wharepai. The donor is the son of a former owner, Mrs Dorothy Clough (1942-1965). The hotel was located at 27 Cameron Road.
