Description
A cloth draughts board. The board is made up to 8 by 8 brown and cream squares and is printed in the centre of the cloth. Around the edges of the board are illustrations of soldiers and sailors playing draughts. The word draughts is printed along the top edge of the cloth and the inscription 'the favourite game of our soldiers in the trenches and our sailors on the sea' is printed along the bottom edge. It is believed that this object was given to commonwealth soldiers and sailors during WW1.
