Description
A sepia postcard style print showing a view of a gorge with steep hillsides, a bridge, buildings and a road. Handwritten in black ink on reverse, 'Karangahake, during the early commencement of the widening of the Gorge. Original Butler's track passes behind the school and leads to the right. It orginally started from Doherty's Creek ford and rose along the hillside to school level. First road to Waihi area was via Raku Road with first Mackay town hotel at the junction."
