Description
A black and white print showing a view of a mining operation and township identified as Waitekauri. Printing below the image reads 'General view of Waitekauri. Showing in foreground 40-stamp mill and cyanide plant of Waitekauri G.M.Co. On the left is shown the waterwheel, the biggest in the North Island and built over a quarter of a century ago.' The print appears to be photographically reproduced from a magazine and it is confirmed that this image did appear in the 'Auckland Weekly News', 29 August 1901.
