Description
A sepia print showing a view of mine buildings and a town in a valley. Handwritten in ink on reverse 'Talisman Battery and Karagahake about 1902/4. Shows original Paeroa-Waihi coach road from Doherty's Creek climbing to right towards top of Gorge'. The image shows industrial buildings in foreground between steep hills with stream flowing through. Further down valley are other buildings including houses. The hills are mostly deforested. The print is mounted on thick cream card embossed with ornate floral designs and decorative frames.
