Description
Royal blue polyester man's jacket. Red taffeta quilted lining. Zip front opening. Buttoned cuffs. Metal tags on side pull tighteners.

Rainster coats and jackets were manufactured in Tauranga for many years (1946-1972). Their factory 'Rainster House' was situated on the western side of Cameron Road between 13th and 14th Avenues. 'Of course you've heard that Rainster overcoats are going to be made here. You've seen that the modern new Rainster House, which will be pleasant to work in, is quickly taking shape opposite the Tauranga College. Some of your friends, perhaps, have already enrolled. So don't leave it any longer - enrol now." The Bay of Plenty Times, 2 January 1946.
