Description
A hand coloured studio portrait of Charles Hartley Snr. photographed and coloured by Crown Studios who had studios in Auckland and Wellington. Charles Hartley and Mabel Hartley established a clothing store, Hartley's, on The Strand during WW1. Charles died in 1928 aged 42. Writing on reverse of photo gives colour suggestions and also has Queen Street.
