Description
A colour slide showing a view of a Zephyr Mark II traffic police car with a sign “WIDE HOUSE” on the front grill. This would be the lead car driving in front of the removal truck waiting on the opposite side of the road, bearing the Christian Science Society building. A police officer is controlling traffic from the centre of the road and spectators are watching proceedings. Vehicles are parallel parked in front of businesses located on Cameron Road. Recorded by the photographer as ‘Removing Christian Science Church.’

The Tauranga Heritage Collection has more than 2000 photographic slides taken by Robert Gale. Robert and his family moved to Tauranga in the early 1960s and he taught at Merivale School until retirement. Robert was a member of the Tauranga Photographic Society for many years.
