Description
A colour slide of a man standing at the doorway of a building. Bicycle leaning on building. The man is identified as Charlie Haua who was a well-known blacksmith in Tauranga. Charlie had a shop in Grey Street. The building was at the Elizabeth Street end next door to Jones & Co funeral directors. Recorded by photographer as ‘C. Haua & Smithy.’

The Tauranga Heritage Collection has more than 2000 photographic slides taken by Robert Gale. Robert and his family moved to Tauranga in the early 1960s and he taught at Merivale School until retirement. Robert was a member of the Tauranga Photographic Society for many years.
