Description
A colour slide showing a field with people, animals, tents and trailers. One trailer reads ‘Bullen’s’. Identified as the Tauranga Domain. Recorded by the photographer as ‘Circus from Domain tree’. "Tauranga's young-in-heart were given a rare treat in December when Bullen brothers' circus paid a two-day visit to the Domain. The programme of fast-moving acts presented the cream of the world's big-top performers and there was certainly something for everyone from the thrilling wire rope and trapeze acts to the grace of perfectly trained horses and the comedy of the clowns.' Robert and his family moved to Tauranga in the early 1960s and he taught at Merivale School until retirement. Robert was a member of the Tauranga Photographic Society for many years.
