Description
A colour slide showing a view of a large tree identified as the historic Aspen Tree (actually Popular Deltoides Virginiana aka cottonwood) and the old Post Office building to the right of the tree. The Post Office is located on Willow Street between Harington Street and McLean Street, Tauranga. Recorded by the photographer as ‘Aspen and Court Building from Cnr. Redoubt’.

The Tauranga Heritage Collection has more than 2000 photographic slides taken by Robert Gale. Robert and his family moved to Tauranga in the early 1960s and he taught at Merivale School until retirement. Robert was a member of the Tauranga Photographic Society for many years.
